Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school social worker position is available to support students in elementary education, serving pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. This role is based in White Rock, NM, and requires in-person commitment. The position is a contracted full-time role with a focus on behavioral and social skill development for young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work services to students at designated elementary schools.
- Address and support students behavioral and social needs through individualized interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop supportive strategies.
- Assist in creating a positive school environment conducive to learning and growth.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and state regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possession of a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) credential valid in New Mexico.
- Approval or certification by the states Public Education Department (PED).
- Demonstrated experience in managing student behaviors and enhancing social skills in a school setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with school communities.
- Willingness to work on-site at assigned elementary schools within the district.
