Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A physical therapist is needed to provide leave coverage in a K-12 school setting, supporting students from PreK through high school. This itinerant role covers six school sites, serving approximately 55 students with physical and multiple disabilities ranging from mild to severe. The position requires full-time hours from early April through late May.
Key responsibilities include delivering direct therapy services, supporting mobility needs, and contributing to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development. Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) will support at the three largest schools, allowing for collaborative care. Experience working within Colorado schools, knowledge of pediatric mobility equipment, and strong skills in IEP writing are preferred to enhance service quality.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification as a physical therapist
- Experience in school-based physical therapy, ideally with pediatric populations
- Familiarity with physical and multiple disabilities from mild to severe
- Knowledge of IEP development and pediatric mobility equipment use
Location: Arvada, Colorado, with travel to multiple school sites in the area.
