A full-time, itinerant speech-language pathologist (SLP) position is available to provide comprehensive services for students in grades K-8 within a dynamic school district in the Arlington, VA area. This contract role supports extended FMLA coverage and involves travel to multiple school sites, requiring a flexible and dedicated professional to enhance student communication development across various locations.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid, active Virginia SLP license required; submission of a license screenshot is necessary with application
- Strong preference for candidates with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Minimum two years of school-based experience, with a willingness to consider highly qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) possessing relevant experience
- Proven ability to manage caseloads effectively within K-8 educational settings
- Reliable transportation and flexibility for daily travel between schools
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services to students with diverse communication needs in K-8 grade levels
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district policies related to special education and therapy services
- Utilize assessment tools and evidence-based interventions to support student progress
- Participate in virtual interviews and complete timely reporting requirements
Location: Arlington, VA (itinerant position traveling to various school sites)
Duration: Contract through June 25, 2026, full-time (36.25 hours per week)
