A Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available at an elementary school in Somerton, AZ. This contract role is scheduled for the current school year (CSY) and offers an opportunity to support students in a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in implementing treatment plans tailored to students speech and language needs.
- Work directly with students to practice communication skills through targeted exercises.
- Record and document student progress accurately and report observations to supervising SLPs.
- Help prepare materials and set up equipment necessary for therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the integration of communication strategies across the school day.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as an SLPA in a school setting preferred.
- Knowledge of speech and language development in elementary-aged children.
- Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and accurately report on student progress.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and supervisors.
- Valid SLPA certification or licensure as required by the state of Arizona.
