Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This is a contract opportunity for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) serving K-12 students in the Washington DC area, specifically within Stafford County Public Schools. Assignments start on January 5, 2026, and end May 29, 2026, with caseloads focused on elementary and middle school students. This role supports a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with part-time options available for candidates able to work a minimum of 20 hours weekly.
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive speech-language evaluations, therapy, and progress monitoring to students, collaborating with educators and families, and managing caseloads of no more than 55 students, typically closer to 50. Assignments will vary between one or two schools based on fit, with locations discussed during the interview process.
Candidates must hold active Virginia SLP licensure and possess the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA; however, clinical fellows are welcome to apply as supervision will be provided. While school experience is preferred, candidates without prior school settings experience will be considered. Although Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are not typically hired, exceptional resumes will be reviewed.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Active Virginia SLP licensure required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; clinical fellows considered with supervision
- Ability to manage caseloads within elementary and middle school age groups
- Strong evaluation and treatment planning skills
- Effective collaboration with educational teams and families
- Flexibility to work full-time or part-time with minimum 20 hours/week availability
- Prior school-based experience is a plus but not mandatory
