Position Requirements
Applicants must meet all state and local requirements to be considered, including:

Valid Michigan School Social Worker License or Limited License (issued by the Michigan Department of Education)

Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution

Completion of a state-approved School Social Work program

Previous experience in a school setting preferred

Strong communication, crisis intervention, and case management skills
Typical Responsibilities
-
Provide social, emotional, and behavioral support to students individually and in small groups
-
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement IEPs and behavioral intervention plans

Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify barriers to learning and recommend interventions
-
Serve as a liaison between home, school, and community resources to support student well-being

Assist in crisis response, conflict resolution, and attendance improvement efforts
-
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and district regulations
