Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Job Duties

Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in implementing therapy plans for students with speech and language disorders

Provide direct therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP

Support students in achieving communication and language development goals

Prepare therapy materials and maintain accurate records of student progress

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student outcomes

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Federal and State Requirements

Associates or Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

Current Alabama SLPA license or eligibility required

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Alabama school districts
