School Psychologist Job Duties

Conduct psychological and educational evaluations to identify students needs

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and intervention plans

Provide counseling and behavioral support to students

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to promote academic and emotional success

Support crisis intervention and behavioral management initiatives within the school

Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Federal and State Requirements

Masters or Doctorate degree in School Psychology from an accredited program

Current Alabama School Psychologist certification or eligibility required

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Alabama school districts
