Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Duties

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in students

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student goals

Provide direct therapy services and monitor progress toward communication milestones

Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school staff to support student learning

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations

Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations for student support
Federal and State Requirements

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Current Alabama SLP license required
-
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Alabama school districts
