A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in a middle school setting in Dumfries, VA, for the current school year as a contract maternity leave cover. This role offers the potential for renewal due to typical staff changes each summer. The assignment begins in mid-March and continues through the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech-language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 50 students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support student communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student progress
- Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Deliver therapy services onsite within the school setting
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Virginia state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience working in school environments with middle school students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Ability to manage a caseload and maintain compliance with relevant laws and standards
