Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Occupational Therapist position is needed to provide specialized support within a K-12 school setting in the Cary, NC area. This contract role is designed to cover a Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) absence, with an anticipated duration through December 2025 and likely extending into January 2026. The assignment offers an opportunity to work directly with elementary-aged students, delivering critical therapy services that enhance their educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students across K-12, primarily focusing on elementary age groups
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed to support academic and functional outcomes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and school policies
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in accordance with district standards
Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina Occupational Therapist licensure is required
- Experience working as an OT in a school-based setting is highly preferred
- Ability to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week with no part-time options available
- Commitment to on-site work; remote or hybrid schedules are not available for this role
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within an educational environment
