Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time opportunity is available for experienced School Psychologists to serve a K-12 public school district in Waterbury, CT. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 16, 2026, with a strong possibility of renewal due to recent staff resignations. The role involves supporting diverse student populations across multiple schools and programs, providing psychological evaluations and interventions to meet varied educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological evaluations for students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to address student behavioral and academic challenges
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention as needed
- Manage caseloads based on assigned schools and grade levels, adapting services to meet unique program needs
Positions Available:
- West Bristol School: K-4 students, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
- Bristol Eastern High School: One of two school psychologists, Monday-Friday, 7:15 AM 2:25 PM
- Destinations Therapeutic Program: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM 2:00 PM
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut psychologist license is required
- Previous experience working in a school setting with K-12 populations
- Strong background in conducting psychological assessments and evaluations
- Ability to work onsite full-time, 35-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
