Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A professional opportunity is available for Speech-Language Pathologists to provide vital support within K-12 schools in the Stafford, VA area, approximately 45 minutes south of Washington, DC. This full-time contract position runs from early January through late May of the academic year, designed to support speech and language services across elementary and middle schools.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations and interventions to students K-12 with caseloads typically around 50 students, never exceeding 55.
- Provide services Monday through Friday, totaling approximately 37.5 hours per week, with part-time opportunities available for candidates able to commit at least 20 hours weekly.
- Manage up to two schools per caseload to ensure quality therapy and progress monitoring.
- Collaborate with school staff to integrate therapy goals into the educational curriculum.
- Support both elementary and middle school populations, tailoring interventions appropriately.
- Accept supervision responsibilities if employed as a Clinical Fellow (CF).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Virginia Speech-Language Pathology licensure is required.
- CCCs certification preferred; candidates in their Clinical Fellowship are welcomed as supervision will be provided.
- Experience in schools is valued but not mandatory; support and training are available.
- Open to candidates with 0 to 10+ years of experience.
- Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are encouraged to submit resumes for consideration, though it is not a currently established role in this district.
- No Department of Education (DOE) licensure required.
