Providing specialized speech-language pathology services to students in a K-12 educational setting requires skilled and dedicated professionals. This opportunity is a contract role located in Fort Pierce, FL, within a public school district on Floridas southeast coast. The position is available for the current school year, starting in early January and concluding in early June.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services across multiple middle and elementary school sites, including Dan McCarty Middle School, Forest Grove Middle School, Oak Hammock K-8, and a private school evaluation team location.
- Manage a caseload that includes students with a variety of communication needs, including those enrolled in InD units and Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) cluster sites.
- Conduct evaluations as required, including independent evaluations conducted at district office locations.
- Collaborate with onsite staff such as Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) to support students communication goals.
- Adapt to varied school schedules, with assignments ranging from 1 to 4 days per week depending on location.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Florida licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is mandatory.
- Ability to work full-time or part-time depending on school assignments.
- Experience with school-based SLP services preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage cases and documentation.
- Candidates should have flexibility within the school year commitment and uphold the contract requirements.
