Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join a dynamic school team in New Orleans, LA, for the 20252026 academic year. The social worker will play a key role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of students across K12 grade levels by providing counseling, crisis intervention, and family engagement services.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to students facing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges

Conduct social-emotional assessments and collaborate on intervention plans

Partner with school staff, families, and community agencies to support student success

Participate in IEP and 504 plan development, offering insight on social-emotional needs

Address issues such as attendance, trauma, abuse, neglect, and family crisis through appropriate interventions

Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide mental health programs and supports

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines

Serve as a liaison between the school, home, and community resources
Required Qualifications:

Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution

Valid Louisiana LMSW or LCSW license (or eligibility for licensure prior to start)

Previous experience in a K12 school setting preferred

Strong understanding of child development, mental health, and social-emotional learning

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
