Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing speech-language therapy services in an elementary school setting requires expertise in working with children across early childhood to middle school grades. This contracted position offers the opportunity to support students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade in a structured and collaborative environment. Therapists will share caseload responsibilities with a colleague, helping manage a current caseload of approximately 58 students, with opportunities to reduce caseload through ongoing progress and dismissals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services Monday through Thursday directly to students, with Fridays dedicated to assessments and paperwork
- Collaborate effectively with a fellow SLP to divide caseload and therapy scheduling
- Manage student case files and IEPs, utilizing PowerSchool or similar case management platforms
- Provide both in-person and virtual therapy as required
- Utilize para professional support for student transitions to therapy sessions
- Adhere to applicable state laws and school policies regarding special education services
Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in Alabama is required
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience providing school-based and virtual speech-language services
- Familiarity with Alabama special education regulations is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage a sizeable caseload efficiently
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including IEP development and progress tracking
Location & Schedule:
- Position based in Harvest, AL, serving one elementary school (preK-8)
- Full-time hours, approximately 37.5 hours per week
- School schedule starts at 7:45 a.m. Central Time
This assignment extends through the school year, starting as soon as possible or at the beginning of the January semester, continuing until May 22, 2026. Para support will assist in facilitating smooth therapy sessions.
